Our Story
Dewdrop’s Perch started out as a hobby, and as a way to raise some money for my husband, Raul, and I’s wedding in 2017. As you can (hopefully) see, it is now more than just a hobby! We started with local farmers markets & local shows/events, and now our Online Shop is on its way! This business is now our full-time job and we are loving it! Our ultimate goal is to earn enough annual income to buy a house, and start a family. We learn new things every day and strive to keep our products of great quality for our customers.
Q & A
What is your favorite item or product to make?
My favorite item would be our wedding signs. I love the color of wood grain after it is stained, and then a clear coat of polyurethane is applied. It reminds me of my own wedding. Meeting happy couples is also a plus.
What do you see for your business in the future?
Our goals for year 5 & 6 of our business so far, has been to be open at our permanent shop every day of the week, and hire new employees this year. Increasing production should be a fun challenge this year as well! We’ve got new designs and products to bring, so being able to keep up with it all is my goal.
So keep a lookout this year! Watch out, 2022!
Where will we see you this year in 2022?
This year you will see us at the Puyallup Farmers Market in Washington in the Spring, Summer & Fall, and local vintage markets all year round! Be sure to check out our Facebook Page or Instagram for updates on local events! Things are always changing and new events are always popping up.
You can now also find us at our shop in Tacoma, WA weekly, from 10am-6pm
Where did you get the name Dewdrop’s Perch?
This is a commonly asked question! We do know that it is a strange name. If you don’t know us personally, then you might be surprised to find out that we are PARROT PEOPLE! (:
Dewdrop is the name of a Cockatiel Parakeet, and one of my closest friends. He was there when I had zero work ethic or motivation, working jobs that I did not enjoy, stuck by my side through relationships until meeting my husband-to-be, and finally I started this business that gave me a good reason to start working again, and enjoy it! Naming my business after my spunky bird seemed like a fun and cool choice! If & when we get our own private storefront, we might even bring him to work with us for customers to meet! (:
If you ever see us at local events, be sure to give us a shout out! We love to meet people who follow us & support us on this journey!
